For some months i have noticed that my notebook has screen brightness problems, when unplugging and plugging the charger, the screen goes black, in which you can only see with a flashlight or in day.

I had a way of dodging this problem by messing with the lockscreen in Windows 10, but in on other OS i didn't have the same luck, i have tried this problem on Linux Mint, Ubuntu and Fedora and the problem still persists.

I've already tried to do a basic formatting of the system and it didn't change, i also have tried installing and uninstalling graphic drivers and it still didn't work.

Specifications of the system:

  • MODEL: Thinkpad Edge E420
  • OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz 2.10 GHz
  • GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
  • RAM: 8GB

    Hello,

Try to check if similar problems occur in Windows 10 safe mode. Safe mode only loads the minimum services and drivers, which can avoid interference caused by third-party software or drivers.

If the screen backlight still turns off in safe mode, it is recommended to consider hardware problems and contact Lenovo after-sales for inspection and repair.
