Do I need Authenticator for Office 2021?

I no longer have 365 on my PC but have been offered Office 2021 as a standalone alternative. Will it still require Authenticator?

    What version of Office did you use?

    Did you mean the phone authenticate to sign in account?

    If you're using Office 2021 LSTC, you don't need to sign in the account with phone authenticate.

    If you're using personal account, you need to set it up yourself about how to verify your account.

    If you're using organization account, you should contact admin to confirm if you need to phone authenticate.

    Thanks for the reply. I have Office 2016, but previously had 365, which I removed. The Authenticator is the phone version. I intend installing 2021 in my personal account.
