Excel files cannot be opened in new outlook and it works in old outlook.

Whenever a user is trying to open any excel file shared on email he is receiving an error message. The same file can be opened in OWA and old outlook. Reinstallation of office dint work. User was able to open these files in new outlook earlier.
Error message:

We are using Outlook 365 and did not tried to open the files from a pre view. Double click the email and double click on the attachment. With OWA it is working. A few other users are also have this problem. But not all.

2024-10-07T17:34:03.47+00:00 User has M365 E5 license and till now one user has reported this issue. When we try to open the attachment in the email then we receive the error. It works fine the OWA.

If the problem only occurs in the Outlook desktop client, try creating a new profile to check if that helps.
