Hello, my company uses a windows server for file generation on excel. It had 2013 Office Pro Plus and needed to be updated to Office 2016 Pro Plus. After update, excel throws an error 8001010a.

This error is from a pop-up within excel, which says "Cannot use object linking and embedding"

I have repaired Office and checked the registry for HKEY LOCAL MACHINE to ensure it's pointing towards Excel.Application.16

    Hi @Christian R

If you right-click Excel icon, run as administrator, will this issue persist?

Please go to Component services\Computers\Mycomputer\DComConfig\Microsoft Excel Application, right click on it, click: Properties > under Identity (tab), check whether "The launching user" is selected.
