The Azure Support Plan's discontinuation, effective from June 30th 2024, was announced as part of broader changes to azure's support offerings. This impacts customers who previously had free Standard Support through promotions. Starting July 1st 2024 customers will need to purchase support plans such as Enterprise Agreement Support to maintain technical coverage. Customers using paid support plans like Microsoft Unified are not affected.
Regarding communications to Licensing Solution Partners (LSP), Microsoft informed authorized partners, including LSPs, that affected customers should be advised to contact their account teams for support plan purchases. These communications highlighted the expiration of free support and guided partners on assisting customers with the transition.
