How to fix MABS console crash while selecting OPTION to Configure SMTP in MABS console.

Hello Everyone,

We have a Azure MABS Console of version 14.0.46.0, Earlier when we have configured SMTP in this server for receiving the alerts through email notification and it was working perfectly.

But Now the email notification is been stopped from a while. When we checked to configure the SMTP,

In MABS Console > Management > Option.

When we select the OPTION the MABS Console is getting crashed.

We have checked in event viewer when the MABS console gets closed, the Event ID are 1001, 999

Could anyone please suggest on this issue.

Same here. MABS crashes whenever pressing the Send Test Email button. My SMTP is provided by Azure Email Communication Service. The event viewer reveals the following stack trace:

The description for Event ID 999 from source MSDPM cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event: 

An unexpected error caused a failure for process 'msdpm'.  Restart the DPM process 'msdpm'.

This seems to be a DPMUI crash on the MABS Server.

Request you to please check the below mentioned registry on MABS Server and change the value of it to 0.

Location - HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Dara Protection Manager\Notification

Name: SmtpAuthType

Value: 0 (in decimal)

Restart the DPM services on the MABS Server and try to setup the SMTP again on the MABS Server.
