“Unable to Establish SSH/RDP Connection to Virtual Machine on Azure

I am experiencing issues connecting to my Azure Virtual Machine (trappusvm) using SSH and RDP. The VM is running Windows Server 2022 Datacenter with a Public IP of 20.161.25.20, and I’ve configured NSG inbound rules to allow traffic on ports 22 (SSH) and 3389 (RDP).

Despite this, I cannot establish a connection from my iPad (using the Termius app for SSH). The connection consistently fails with a timeout error. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Rebooted the virtual machine
  • Verified the NSG inbound rules
  • Checked the VM’s status, which shows as running in the portal

Thank You

    Hi Wilson Bezerra,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

I don't believe ssh is setup by default for windows. you want to establish the connection then go through the steps provided in the documentation. OpenSSH for Windows.
