Hello all,
I'm facing an issue with latest version of Peak PCAN driver, when I try to load the DLL of the latest driver in my winforms project the above error is shown. The catch is using the same loadlibrary function in any other project (winforms/wpf/maui) and the DLL loads successfully. I'm unable to understand how using the exact same code in every project is working except one.
Peak is a German company that develops Passthru devices that helps applications connect with microcontrollers using different protocols such as CAN etc. I'm using the hardware called PCAN-USB (IPEH-002021).
Driver versions I'm trying to work with are-
My application is built using .NET Framework 4.8, it is used for analysis, diagnostics of electric vehicles using CAN protocol. We've been maintaining the app from past 5-6 years, I've tried to contact PEAK company, but they end up telling it's an issue with LoadLibrary function of Windows not their driver file because the same driver is working with other projects.
Please let me know in case I missed to provide any information, posting here for the very first time.

Q&A does not provide support for third-party products. You should ask Peak to provide you with usage samples.
From the error, it seems that it cannot find your driver file. You can try to shorten the complex address before the dll and try to be as concise as possible without any symbols other than letters and numbers. Use a path that has permission to access. If other projects can use it, then your project probably does not follow the usage requirements.

RLWA32 51,536 Reputation points2025-01-17T09:21:46.5266667+00:00 Windows will display that error dialog when the loader cannot resolve imported functions with the export tables of the dlls being loaded. The error can be somewhat misleading because the Ordinal number that is displayed may be related to dlls on which PCANPT32.dll depends and not to a function that has been directly imported by NEMOAnalyzer.exe. So also check that all of the dependent dlls are located where LoadLibrary's search algorithm can find them.

2025-01-20T09:59:17.35+00:00 Hi @Anonymous , tried to load the DLL file from as concise path as possible (C:/PCANTP32.dll), didn't work. Still the issue is persisting.
Thanks @RLWA32 , currently exploring on your suggestions, as my project involves multiple complex modules most of which are dependent on external dlls.
I created a new winforms project and used the same code to load the library and it's working, pretty sure problem is with NEMOAnalyzer project but unable to pinpoint the issue.
