Hi iv been having a lot of problems with my computer.

I keep having unexpected shutdowns due to a 10016 DistributedCOM Error in event viewer.

The computer will shutdown suddenly with no warning then will get stuck in a boot loop resetting every time it gets to the ASUS splash screen until i unplug at the mains and drain power out by holding the power button on the front down for a bit.

Here is a report from EventViewer

The answers given presume a high level of ability and seem time consuming to execute. It begs the question of whether technology is improving our lives, or just changing what we spend so much time doing.

Hi, thank you so much for your speedy reply

    1. Click Advance and change the owner to Administrators group. Also click the box that will appear below the owner line. ("Replace owner ...")

I get this far but see no clear option to change the owner to Administrators group.

    Thank you.

Check for updates on Intel Management Engine Interface driver from the manufacturer website.

Let us know how that goes.

Hi, just to update i disabled fastboot and then it crashed.

When i rebooted the machine it took ages for anyting to be displayed on screen and when it did it a dos looking page explaining i had no keyboard and to press f1 for setup.

I unplugged then replugged my keyboard and it was recognised, i went in to setup, put everything on defaults and saved changes/reset machine.

I rebooted then we i checked fastboot had been reactivated, so i deactivated it, shutdown and then rebooted. Fatboot is now still deactivated since starting back up.

In reliability history a critical event is now showing up for this past crash, which is
