Use WVD with azure AD only

Hello team,

is it possible to join WVD only to Azure AD without and On Prem AD at all?
In all documents I've seen "Join to AD" when setting up WVD. That's also why we need ADDS if I'm not mistaken.

In a dev scenario where there is no AD but only Azure AD (users), am I supposed to be able to deploy and test WVD?

On top of that, has the Spring WVD release empowered the compatibility between Intune and WVD?

Thanks,

    Hi,

No it does not require an on-premise Active Directory, similar thread below with helpful answers:

    Hi Leon,

thanks a lot for your promt answer?
I'm just having issues in the join domain when I deploy WVD and I was hoping thta could be the root cause.

Unfortunately the "Error details" are not the most fortunate part of Azure services.
The error just says: Conflict > Failure > failed to join domain.

Is there a suggestion you can give me to get more info about why this error is happening?

Anyway your answer answeered my question (not the Intune part yet, but I expect a "No" as answer)

    Thanks,
    Marco
