    There are several free proxy services out there, so which one are you talking about?

    To find out if you have a new ip, you can go to https://www.myip.com/ if your ip has changed. If so, the vpn is working.

    Personally, I find the free proxy server unreliable, slow, and a lot of advertising. If you want to make frequent use of it, you are better off with a paid service, like nordvpn.
