Persistent SRUDB Errors

Event Viewer has been showing an error in SRUDB.dat. I tracked it down to a faulty NVidia driver update, because it was causing BSOD with DPC_Watchdog_Violations. A hotfix from NVidia solved the BSOD, but the errors persist. They occur in pairs and are:

svchost (3844,D,22) SRUJet: A request for a node on an empty page (Pgno: 6413, Flags: 0xa80a) has been made (error -351) for a B-Tree (ObjectId: 15, PgnoRoot: 79) of database C:\WINDOWS\system32\SRU\SRUDB.dat. This is typically due to a lost I/O from  storage hardware. Please check with your hardware vendor for latest firmware revisions, make changes to your controller's caching parameters, use crash consistent hardware with Forced Unit Access support, and/or replace faulty hardware.

Is there still a driver problem to be solved? Thanks.

    BSOD:

    The issue has been resolved.

    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

NVidia updated the GPU driver with a version that generated errors. A hotfix was released within days and I applied it, which stopped the BSOD issue, but not the SRUDB errors.

    Driver: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740

    DirectX Driver Name: nvldumd.dll

    Driver Version: 27.21.14.6674

    DirectX Driver Version: 27.21.14.6674

    Driver Date: 6 8 2021

    OpenGL Version: 4.6

Desktop Color Depth: 32 bits per pixel

    Monitor Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

DirectX Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740

    VendorID: 0x10de

    DeviceID: 0xfc8

    Revision: 0xa1

I'll look into the Carmack's post to see if that changes anything.

    Stay safe.
