Sirs,

I have a laptop with an Intel Celeron 2840 which is a 2 core 2.85GHz processor so easily meets the minimum requirements but because it is not on the compatibility list windows 11 will not install. Can this be added to the list please?

    Good Day TonyHagin.,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you.

The minimum requirements for Windows 11 is at least 8th Gen processors. The processor you are using which is Intel Celeron 2840 is not included in the list of supported processors. Microsost announced that they are already done with the testing with the supported processors.

You can stay in Windows 10 it is still supported until year 2025, by that time you will have a new computer already.

However if you want to update your device to Windows 11, you can reach out to your manufacturer and have them check what is the compatible processor for your device, for processor replacement update to Windows 11.

This is a community forum, I don't work for Microsoft , I am a community member like you.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

A little effort on your part would have revealed that the OP's processor is in a laptop with socket FCBGA1170 with the "BGA" standing for Ball Grid Array, which means that the processor is soldered onto the motherboard and can't be replaced. Furthermore, if a given Intel processor isn't on the MS list, there will be no replacement available because the motherboard socket will accept only processors of the same generation as the present one, so that's not an option either.
