chat button is missing

I have lost my chat button. I am on a course and it was fine for the first 3 days, but today I cannot find it, so I cannot fully participate in the training. I have tried leaving and rejoining and shutting down Teams and reopening. I am unable to restart my computer until after the course today as I have some work that I cannot save until I have finished it. There are less than 20 people in this meeting, and I am using the free version of Teams. Although I signed in previously, today I cannot do so as it says that the organisation does not recognise my email address (which is, and always has been different to the email address that I used to register on the course).

    I'm wondering whether you are experiencing the same issue when using MS Teams online.

    Please follow these steps below to isolate the issue:

    1. Please go to your computer then open your chrome or edge browser as the only recommended browsers to access MS Teams online.
    2. Please go to MS Teams online https://teams.microsoft.com
    3. Then try to log in.
    4. Go check the chat feature

    Are you experiencing the same issue when you are using MS Teams online from your computer?
