Is there a co-host option in Teams? I would like to delegate a co-host to manage the break out rooms for an event we're running. Is this possible?

Thanks

K

Let's asume I organized a workshop and I'm late or sick, so I want a "co-host" to start the meeting and use breakout rooms. A presenter is not able to start breakout rooms.

    Hi Microsoft team,

I think it is good to activate this CO HOST nominated by meeting organizer feature because most trainings initial calendar note go out from the facilitation member. However training will be done by an expert and it is quite a task to be allocated to break out rooms through the meeting organizer only. At least the co host should be able to move around breakout rooms freely without the facilitator/organizer being a bottleneck. If you introduce this feature it will be very close feeling to a physical breakout activity. We find it really challenging to manage with this restriction.

Also I tried to put the suggestion in above link, however it is not user friendly and hence doing the suggestion here.

This is really frustrating lack of a feature, I have spent hours trying to find a workaround.

We often dual train and this allows us to go to different breakouts.

    Hi KBIH,

    Thank you for your post.

After creating a Teams meeting, you can make other participants presenters (co-hosts) and make everyone else an attendee with limited abilities. To achieve this, select the meeting in the Teams calendar and go to Meeting options.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Hello Mr. Trust_A, others,

The link you provided states in the table that only an Organizer can 1) manage breakout rooms, and 2) change meeting options.

Meaning that a Presenter (what you call a "co-host") cannot manage breakout rooms, despite what you wrote.

    Can you please clarify?

    Dear Kbih,
As an Independent Advisor and community user, I'll help you with your question.
When you create a Teams meeting through the "Calendar" button, you can add more Presenters even as an Organizer for the meeting and also you can changes roles from all attendees before and during the meeting, take a look at below link for review all roles:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/role...

    Regards,
    Renzo.

    Actually, you cannot add Organizers.

"A couple of things to keep in mind:

    • You'll need to send your meeting invite directly to anyone you want to select as a presenter.
    • The role of the meeting organizer can't be changed."

Is it possible to add a Co-Host? I cannot find that anywhere in the documentation.
