Do you have a solution to help PowerPoint from shutting down? It's happened 6 x's in 1hr & shuts down the program. Help! it keeps giving me a blue circle of death &doesn't restart, so I have to force quit. It's not autosaving my last saves. We use 2007 in our office, and multiple colleagues have replicated similar problems. Any ideas what's happening?

Is there any pattern to what you were doing in PPT when it slams shut?

Also, lunatic as it may seem, have a look here and try the suggestions:

In addition to the other suggestions, this also sounds like what happens when you're working with charts and you don't have SP2 installed. Or maybe you have SP2 but not the hotfixes that fix the charting bugs that SP2 introduces.

(You want SP2 because it fixes a bunch of stuff. Problem is, it introduces other issues, so after installing SP2 make sure to install charting hotfixes: http://blogs.technet.com/b/arykhus/archive/2010/05/12/latest-chart-hang-fix-is-in-kb-981047.aspx )

This also sounds like an addin issue.  Go to File/Options/Addins and try disabling the COM Addins.  If you see a bluetooth addin listed, I bet that is the issue. I'll paste what I put in another post if that is the case:

The best way to disable it is to rename the offending dll file for all of Office (assuming the bluetooth addin is present).

First, close all Office applications (including Outlook)

Go to C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\btsendto_office.dll

Rename that btsendto_office.dll to btsendto_office.dll.old

Are you facing this issue with a specific presentation file or files?

Check the event viewer logs which will display the detail information (mod name, error log etc.) about this issue.

Refer the link below for more information on how to use Event viewer in Windows 7:
