Mac Sharepoint Sync

I created a powerpoint document on our Office Sharepoint site that all of my colleagues can access and make changes to, but I cannot.

Every time I open the document, none of their changes are visible. When they open it, they can see each other's but my never happened.

I've tried to open the file a dozen different ways, but every time I get the following error message:

"We can't upload your changes right now because we can't connect to the server. We've saved them locally and will retry uploading the next time it's opened."

I am on a Macbook, and about to lose my mind.

Thank you.

Hi Amy [USA],

Welcome to the Answers community.

May I know when you open the affected presentation AutoSave is turned off or not?

Please open the PowerPoint presentation in PowerPoint for the web and check if you can see the changes made by your colleagues.

Besides, please ensure your Office apps are fully updated. The latest version of Microsoft 365/2019 for mac is 16.46 (21021202). To check version, open any Office app such as Word, go to the Word menu and choose About Word.

If the version appears lower, then manually update Office apps, click Help > Check for Updates from any of the Office app to get the latest build.

After updating, check if the error appears. If the issue remains, if you have any edits you don’t want to lose, select File>Save a Copy and save the file under a new name.

Now, open the PowerPoint presentation in question from within the app. For this, close PowerPoint app, and open a blank PPT, click File>Open, select OneDrive for business or SharePoint online location to open the file, check if AutoSave is on and the changes you or your colleagues made are syncing or not.

Note*: Do not open the file from OneDrive synced folder or* Recent file list.

If the issue persists, please provide the following information:

  1. Please confirm the version and build of PowerPoint app. To get this information, open PowerPoint, go to the PowerPoint menu and choose About PowerPoint.
  2. The version of OneDrive sync app. For this, click the OneDrive cloud icon up in your Menu bar, click the three dots to open the menu, and select Preferences>About.
  3. Do you see the same error in other Office files?
  4. A complete screenshot of the error.

Thanks,

Neha
