Make sure that the service account has at least read permission for the root site collection of SharePoint Online.

Hi All,
I am getting this error when searching from SP Online to SP on-prem using service account. But when using my account I was able to perform search.
take note that we have the same permission of the service account on the SP Online site and SP On-prem web applications.
Can you advise what to check on this.
