I recently bought a new HDD for windows. I used a USB so I can install Windows on my PC which had trouble booting Windows before.
After I press Install Windows 11 it shows up with options to select location to install Windows but the only one i can select is my HDD but pressing next doesn't do anything, I tried formatting partitions, refreshing it and deleting it but nothing happens. When I select other partitions it shows that Windows 11 can't be installed on it.
What should I do? Any advice or info?

Yes. Once you delete the existing partitions, the disk will show only unallocated space. When you select that unallocated space during installation, Windows will automatically recreate the necessary system partitions for proper functionality.

Another question I got is how long is Windows 11 supposed to install for, this is because when I kept on installing it usually stops at 76% and doesn't progress for 3hrs+, may this have have to do with the partitions or is it the PC in general?
Because I am unsure if I should wait a lot longer.

Installation doesn't take that long on a system that doesn't have hardware issues.
What strikes me as odd is that the first screenshot you shared shows a reserved partition, typically created during a Windows installation. It suggests the HDD might not be as new as you thought. Unless, of course, you previously attempted a Windows installation that didn't complete successfully. Could that be the case?
Have you tried deleting both "Disk 1 Partition 1" and "Disk 1 Partition 2" so that Disk 1 shows only unallocated space? From there, you can install Windows directly onto the unallocated space (no need to format manually). The setup process will handle the formatting and create all the necessary system partitions automatically.

I think that I have attempted a Windows installation beforehand and didn't complete it probably because I got impatient. May that be the reason why its taking too long for Windows to install?

When I say "temporarily disconnect all internal HDDs except the one you intend to use for the Windows installation", I mean physically disconnecting them.
Is it possible for you to do this?
Are you completely certain that Disk 1 is your new HDD?

Disk 1 Partition 2 is my new HDD as the new HDD i bought was 1TB so it should be aroudn 900gbs.
And i don't think this is possible for me to physically disconnect the internal HDDs
Somehow I tried again to select and install and somehow it allowed me to select the drive and install

Hi David a question about your request but when you say disconnect internal HDDs do you mean delete partitions temporarily as when I try to do this nothing works.
The only partition I plan to install on is the Disk 1 Partition 2 as its the only option that Windows 11 can be installed in but nothing happens when I press next.

First, identify which disk in the list corresponds to your new hard drive. I see three disks. Disk 2 appears to be the installation media, so your target drive is likely either Disk 0 or Disk 1.
Interestingly, both Disk 0 and Disk 1 seem to have existing installations or data on them, which is unexpected.
To simplify the process and avoid any confusion, could you temporarily disconnect all internal HDDs except the one you intend to use for the Windows installation?
