My computer screen goes black with white lettering "Software Update. Do not turn off your computer." Yet the mouse goes all over the screen and looks like an intelligence to its moving. How can I tell if someone has gained a remote access to my computer? Is this a Windows software update?

    Hi Frances,

Just to add to the above, during the update

that Ivan mentions there is NO mouse at all.

So not sure what update you're seeing or

why there would be any mouse/cursor even

    visible.

    Hi,

If it's that specific screen, it is usually a Windows update. Since it appears on the Windows login screen, it is indeed a legitimate update screen, so you don't need to worry.

    Windows is updating screen

If you would like to check your PC after the update finishes to ensure everything is in order, just let me know when it is done.

    Thanks.
