Hi,

I am using Visual Studio 2019 & C#. I would like to know which unit test framework to use for testing external APIs which are not part of the Visual Studio solution

It does not make a lot of sense to unit test an external API. The owners of the external API are responsible for unit testing their code.

If your goal is to unit test how your code handles the external API, then you should create a mock service that mimics the external API data.
