Change or create SAN for certificate on Azure

Question

I bought a wildcard certificate on Azure for my projects * .mydomain.com. I need the certificate to work with my resources. Resources are of the form * .dev.mydomain.com * .stage.mydomain.com * .test.mydomain.com. As I understand it, I need to add a subject alternative name (SAN) to the certificate. How can i do this? Is it possible to add or change a SAN for a certificate on Azure?

Since your certificate is a wildcard, you don't need to use a SAN for each of your app services. If you're using Azure for DNS, all you need to do is add the CNAME records for your app service, validate, and then bind your wildcard cert to it. Bada-bing bada-boom. I know this answer is late but this may benefit others. The certificate issued to *.mydomain.com cannot be use to *.dev.mydomain.com, *.stage.mydomain.com, and *.test.mydomain.com . You need to add these in the SAN. Example, you cannot use it to dev.stage.mydoman.com, finance.stage.mydomain.com and finance.test.mydomain.com. However you can craft it to dev-finance.mydomain.com, stage-finance.mydomain.com and test-finance.mydomain.com inorder to use the certificate issued to *.mydomain.com. I think you got the idea. :) .
