When I try to install Java, this error message comes up. How do I fix it?

Whichever one I pick, Java doesn't install. Then if I try to install it again, a different error message called 1500 comes up telling me that it's already in the process of installing, but it's not. Then I restart my PC and try to install Java again, and the error message I've written above comes up again.

This version wasn't out yet when I tried before. I tried the previous online and offline versions. When I tried downloading this version, a slightly different error message came up after I clicked install.

just spent forever trying to figure this out and I DID!!!!

Same exact error and everything. I can't tell you why it is happening, but i can tell you how I fixed it.

Check the version of java you are using. in my case it was java jre-8u341 The newest version as of rn.
Start downloading older and older versions until It installs seamlessly. I ended up downgrading to jre-8u311 to get mine working. Every version in between had the same, or another form of the same, issue.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. hopefully I save someone some time with this.

Hi SaleemKarim-3354,

You could try and uninstall the existing Java version and then install the latest. Do this independently of the Java installer otherwise it can confuse itself.

Are you trying to install the 32 bit or 64 bit version?

If its for a browser based applications, then please note. The web plugins only work in Internet Explorer (which is due to be decommissioned in Win10 starting this month). By default the tabs in IE are 32bit but you can force this to run in 64 bit via the registry. (I doubt this is causing your issue though).

Also IE has a checker to see if plugins are up-to-date and will disable the plugins if they aren't. (As Java gets updated frequently, its like a game of whack a mole).

The danger here is that as IE11 is no longer supported, that the plugins may stop working at some point in the future.

As an alternative, you could potentially try the open source versions of Java from AdoptOpenJDK.net (slightly more relevant if you are a business, as the Oracle version is no longer free for commercial use). Use the LTS versions (Long term support).

The first option brought up the same error message. The second option didn't work because when I try to go to the Java Control Center, my PC tells me Java isn't on my PC.
