Unsupported browser error authenticating AAD Connect Sync Provisioning Agent on Windows Server 2016

Recently, I was unable to sync our directory. When I launched the AAD Connect Provisioning Agent Wizard I am prompted to reauthenticate. When I try to authenticate, I get an error: "Unsupported browser".

I have tried the following:

  • Installed Microsoft Edge
  • Updating the AAD Connect Sync Provisioning Agent
  • Restarting

to no success. How can I make this work?

    Hello there,

    Ensure that the Pass-through Authentication feature is still Enabled on your tenant and the status of Authentication Agents shows Active, and not Inactive. You can check status by going to the Azure AD Connect blade on the Entra admin center.
