How to backup ADLS for ZRS

Hi Experts,

ADLS doesny support backup out of box. I want to backup the adls files for ZRS (zone level redudancy). Can anyone please suggest what is the best way?

@Saha Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for reaching out here.

As per below document Microsoft recommends/supports using ZRS in the primary region for Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 workloads. Whereas Customer-managed account failover is not yet supported in accounts that have a hierarchical namespace (Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2).

Sorry,I am confused as one side you are saying that ZRS is not supported if namespace hierarchy is enabled.on the other hand you are saying that ADLS supports ZRS. Can you please clarify?Thanks again for your reply ealeir

Hi there, Sorry for misunderstanding here. In my previous response I mentioned that ADLS Gen2 support ZRS (Please see the screenshot attached above).

Earlier customer managed failover isn't supported for ADLS Gen2. But looks like the product team has announced its support for ADLS Gen2. It is in public preview now. See this announcement regarding the same: Public Preview: Customer Managed Failover for ADLS Gen2

If you want to backup to another region, you can also use azcopy or ADF.
