Is there a specific duration or retention period during which the chat history in OpenAI is stored?

Do azure open AI stores the chat history for better response.

If it's there, can we disable the option for storing the chat history. We are planning to use the "User own data" feature of open ai for customer related data fetching.

So storing this chat history with the data from private KB will not be a good approach.

Instead of that from our application, we can store the chats in our application instead using the chat history saved by the open ai.

Is there any possibility to disable the retention period
