Shared Files via OneDrive: sync button not available

Hello, I have a simple question. The company I work uses OneDrive and Office 365. When somebody shares a folder with files inside with me I see the sync button and all files are synchronized, but when an excel or word file for instance is shared the sync button is not available. I open the file I can edit it, but the sync button is not available. I always have to access it via a link the user sent me. Is this feature not available for files? Why?

    Hi @Martinelli, Cavour

Since I have not received your update, I will give you a test result based on my own understanding.

On Shared with me page, for single files, there is no Sync button. User's image

As you said, if you go to the shared folder, there is one sync button.

enter image description hereFor the above case, I think it's by design. The workaround is working with "Add shortcut to Myfiles". Then the file will be synced to OneDrive local folders. User's image

    Hi Guys,

I have a similar problem. I can't find the Sync bottom in my OneDrive. It doesn't show in my folder and I'm trying to have access with the shared folder in my file explorer.

    Any help?

This is a global flaw that has been reported for weeks and until now Microsoft has not officially acknowledged the problem and gone public with its retraction. It is no longer possible to synchronize shared folders on Onedrive in Windows Explorer. They show as a shortcut to the internet. In other words, clicking on the folder will not open the files directly, but will instead take you to Onedrive online in the browser. This flaw is impacting thousands of offices that mainly use the "Microsoft Family" or "Personal" license to share files between employees . Because now they can only work 100% through the browser, which completely reduces productivity. And it's not just this problem that was found, Microsoft's services and websites are crashing all the time, several bugs in the processing of files directly in Onedrive were also found, but the worst thing is that Microsoft hasn't fixed this yet.

Same as others, for several weeks I've had the same issue. I can no longer get a Shared folder to appear in File Explorer. The SYNC button no longer appears, only the "Add Shortcut to My Files" which is pointless as it just takes me back to the webpage.
