Hello everyone,

Some of our users have the problem that the laptop with Win10/11 starts very slowly in the home office.

The boot takes forever, after entering the password the profile does not load for about 10-30 minutes.

After logging in, you are presented with a black screen, then at some point the taskbar appears and, after waiting a little longer, the icons on the desktop.

As soon as the profile has loaded and there is a VPN connection to the company, everything works perfectly again.

An extra default gateway was entered for some clients, which we then removed.

Unfortunately, this approach is not the same everywhere and the problem persists.

However, if the users are on site, there are no problems with the device at all. The problem is also greatly reduced if WLAN and LAN are deactivated before shutting down and starting without a network connection in the home office.

It looks to me as if there is a dependency on a server/service in the company network.

The problem first started a few months ago after a Windows update.

Unfortunately, I don't know any more details.

Checking the event log and task manager did not reveal anything that explains the error.

Perhaps someone is aware of the error.

Any help appreciated!

Regards

MF
