Change to Viva Connections in Teams no longer shows Intranet, now shows generic Connections page..

Question

I had pinned Viva Connections in Teams so that when clicked it would open our Intranet at a specific page in Teams (Cool!). All worked well until a recent change to Viva Connections. Now when the pinned icon is clicked a generic Connections page opens and the user has to either click an icon top right which when takes them to the intended page of our intranet (not intuitive). Or click on a card which takes them to the wrong page of our intranet.

I have checked and our intranet is set as the home site.

Is there a way to change it back so that when clicking on the pinned icon it opens our intranet in Teams? Or is this the intended functionality of viva connections in Teams now?

And if it is how Viva Connections in Teams works where does an Admin make companywide design changes?

1.Please try to uninstall Viva Connections in Teams and reinstall it.

2.Contact the administrator to reconfigure Viva Connections in the Manage app of Teams admin center.

3.Clear Teams cache.

I don't think that is the issue here. We just started to add this and we have the same problem.

I don't have an answer but I just added a button to the Intranet home page (along with other key apps). People seem to still find the intranet easy enough

I found a solution to make it work. It works for me.

Choose default landing experience for viva connections desktop

Set-SPOHomeSite -HomeSiteUrl <homesiteURL> -VivaConnectionsDefaultStart <$true/$false>.

It can take up to 60 minutes to work.

Also it is possible to restart your Teams application.
