Hello Everybody.
I saw that the Azure IoT certification that existed in the past does not exist anymore...

Would you have maybe some tips or ideas about which certification could be useful instead? I was thinking that the Data Engineer path could be a good option, even if it's not exactly the same :/

Thanks in advance for the valuable feedback!

    Hello @Omar Cruz,

welcome to this moderated Azure community forum.

Yes, the AZ-220 Azure IoT Developer certificate is not available anymore.

There are still several IoT related free MS Learn modules available so you can still work yourself to the training program.

Here is a curated collection based on the original AZ-220 program.

Azure IoT and related training helps you to sending data from devices (owned by an OT engineer) to streams and databases (owned by a Cloud data engineer).

So you can either entend your knowledge and certification to the OT side or the Cloud data side).

I expect you are interested in the cloud side...

At least, you need to take the AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals exam.

From there, the Azure Data Engineer DP-203 exam is a good choice.

It's also recommended to look at the Azure AI Fundamentals because IoT is more and more combined with AI eg. vision on the edge or for decision making in the cloud.

    Hello @Omar Cruz

The Azure IoT certification still exists, but it has been renamed to Azure Certified Device certification.

This certification validates that a device can connect with Azure IoT Hub and securely provision through the Device Provisioning Service (DPS). It reflects a device's functionality and interoperability, which are a required baseline for all other certifications.

If you are interested in becoming a data engineer, there are several Azure certifications that could be useful for you, such as the Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.

This certification validates the skills needed to design and implement the management, monitoring, security, and privacy of data using the full stack of Azure data services to satisfy business needs.

    I hope this helps.
