- Verify the location of the virtual disk images created by the backup process. These images may have a
.vmdk
extension and are typically stored in a datastore on the ESXi host. - On the new server where you want to mount the disk images, ensure that you have access to the datastore where the virtual disk images are stored. You may need to connect to the ESXi host using VMware vSphere Client or other management tools to access the datastore.
- Once you have access to the datastore, you can attempt to mount the virtual disk images as additional disks on the new server.
- After successfully mounting the virtual disk images, you should be able to browse the contents of the disks and extract the relevant data folders as needed. Simply copy the required files or folders from the mounted disks to the desired location on the new server's filesystem.
