My WSUS sync has been failing with the following error message for the last few days:

Sync failed: The request was aborted: The operation has timed out. Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.DatabaseAccess.ApiRemotingCompressionProxy.GetWebResponse

What could be causing this and how can I resolve it?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,A bloated SUS database may cause this issue. You can clean the database up to have a try. Similar thread for your reference:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/233760/sync-failed-the-request-was-aborted-the-operation

2,It also can be firewall or proxy issue, please check the settings.

Install and Configure WSUS on Windows Server 2019

3,I highly doubt this is the cause but good to check

    WSUS synchronization fails with SoapException

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
