Hello,

During setup for Azure Backup for on-premises machines, the backup server passphrase was misplaced. I would like to retrieve it since I am taking one of the servers off site recovery.

  1. How do I go about retrieving the backup passphrase? since the backup server UI is quite different.
  2. How can I clear critical alarms from the Microsoft Azure Backup Server that are in the protection group.
  3. How do I troubleshoot backup Items (Azure Backup Agent) form azure site recovery. Since the last backup status is so far back, about a month? Thanks, and any help will be highly appreciated.

    1. How do I go about retrieving the backup passphrase? since the backup server UI is quite different. You cannot. The whole idea of protecting backup relies on passphrase-based encryption. If one could come up with a way to somehow identify the passphrase without having access to it, the protection would be worthless.
    2. How can I clear critical alarms from the Microsoft Azure Backup Server that are in the protection group. You can inactivate them - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-monitoring-built-in-monitor?tabs=recovery-services-vaults#inactivating-alerts
    3. How do I troubleshoot backup Items (Azure Backup Agent) form azure site recovery. Since the last backup status is so far back, about a month? Refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-mars-troubleshoot
