New version of excel is having permission issues with opening some files

Hello

Please i need help on this issue.

The newest version of Excel 16.85 is having permission issues with opening encrypted Excel files. Had to roll back to the older 16.84 version for it to work.

Where did you open the Excel?

Where did the Workbook save?

Did this problem only appear in Excel? How about other Office products?

I suggest you check the sign in account and check if you can open the Workbooks with account. Try to sign out and re-sign in the account.

We are experiencing the same issue with version 16.85. We have the same observations as IniobongNkanga-8038.

Where did you open the Excel?

We are trying to open it from the OneDrive for Mac folder as well as the locally stored files, and we encounter the same issue with both.

Where did the Workbook save?

It was saved in the onedrive folder as well as the locally stored files.

Did this problem only appear in Excel? How about other Office products?

we observed it for Word, Excel, as well as PowerPoint.

Rolling back to the previous version helped us to resolve this issue. its still not working with re-login

I've opened the Excel file that is in my downloads folder. This issue looks to be on all files that are encrypted through the sensitivity label.

I am able to open the file while on 16.84 then when I update to the latest update 16.85 I would get the permissions error so when I uninstalled 16.85 and reinstall 16.84 it would open again.
