Adobe reader
publishing PDF from excel should not opening automatically in desktop pdf adobe .it is happening in both Win 10 and Win 11
I'd like to explain that if we export the PDF from Excel, while publishing, the PDF it will be opened using the browser built-in PDF add-in instead of desktop Adobe app.
If the PDF stored locally on the computer, it will find the Adobe reader app installed on the computer to open it.
Kindly help me solve the issue, its affecting our production for the users in our environment. My requirement is publishing PDF from excel should be open automatically in desktop pdf adobe .

Try this method to disable PDF files from opening in the browser:
- Open Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
- Click on the 'Edit' menu then 'Preferences'.
- Click on 'Internet' on the side bar.
- Under 'Web Browser Options', untick 'Display PDF in browser'.
- Click 'OK' to save the changes.
