Hi,

I'm trying to update FSlogix to the latest version on a test terminal server. We are using the same adm templates on the production and test environment (because adm templates are located in the sysvol share in the same domain). If we update the adm files, and leave all settings the same, does this effect my production environment?

(test and production environment have other group policies applied, but they use the same adm template)

Hope to hear.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Updating the ADM template files themselves will not have a direct impact on policy settings that have been applied in production. ADM template files are tools used to display and edit specific policy settings in the Group Policy Editor. They define the available policy settings and their default values, but do not store the actual policy state applied to computers or users.

If you update the ADM files in a test environment and do not observe any issues, and the updated content does not conflict with the settings in the production environment, then there may be no negative impact on the production environment when applying the update.

However, any actual changes to policy settings (such as modifying default values or enabling/disabling specific options) may introduce changes in the production environment. Before applying any changes, it is recommended to test them thoroughly in a test environment and ensure that any potential impacts are understood before considering applying in a production environment.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
