If I delete an Azure Media Service, what happens to my video files in the storage account?

I have finished migrating to MediaKind for video streaming, which leaves the video files in place on my storage account. I do not want to pay for another 90 days of AMS until the automatic delete happens, so I was considering deleting the Azure Media Service resource now. All of my video files, originals and transcoded, are still listed in the Assets.

What is going to happen to the video files in the storage account if I delete the Azure Media Service resource?

    Hello Alyn Parry,

    Thanks for your question.

No. Deleting the Azure Media Service resource will not delete the video files in your storage account. They are separate resources and not in the same scope. The only way resources will be deleted together is if they are in the same resource group

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you
