I have a similar issue on my Pixel 7 Pro. It says to sign in to do a backup but then says Oops something went wrong. It shows backup as enabled but won't let me disable it or delete it. Please can someone assist. I can't afford to lose all my data. Thanks.
MS Authenticator, No Backup Error
I just factory reset my phone. Before doing so, I made sure to check that cloud backup was enabled on my MS Authenticator app because I've had issues before. I have redownloaded the app and clicked the link to start the recovery process. I entered my email and password and was presented with a "choose the right number" prompt even though no account had been synced with the app yet. So, it's asking me to choose the correct number even though there's no number given (because I'm in the recovery process, and there's no account associated with the app yet). I chose a number at random, and it told me it wasn't correct and returned me to the starting screen. I again selected the recovery option and put in my username and password, and now it's saying, "There's no backup information associated with this account." This is the 3rd time in the last 4 years I've tried to restore the authenticator app from a backup, and it has never worked correctly. Not once. I always end up having to go through the arduous process of resetting up MFA for 9 work applications, not to mention several personal ones (the last time this happened, I had to start a new Facebook and Snapchat because they don't have a recovery option if you've got app based MFA set up and lose access to the tokens). I'm pretty fed up at this point.
