Sometimes universal printers are added as other devices. Usually we can fix it by uninstalling the printer (other device), rebooting, and re-installing.

This time we have a printer that will not install as a printer. How to fix?

    Hello,

If the printer is installed and recognized as a device other than the printer device, it is usually because the system has failed to properly install or recognize the printer's driver.

Please pay special attention to the following aspects when troubleshooting:

    1. Check to install the latest patches and updates in Windows Update to improve system compatibility.
    2. Check the driver in Device Manager:
    • Check whether there are any unidentified devices added after the printer is installed under "Other devices". Right click on it and select "Update Driver".
    • In addition, we can directly visit the official website of the printer manufacturer to download the latest drivers that match the printer model and system version.
    1. Ensure that the printer hardware and cable are correct. Try replacing the USB cable or using a different USB port.

    Best regards

    Jacen
