Hello, I am using azure vnet in my project. I have a vnet with cider 10.0.0.0/23 and two subnets. One subnet is used for Private endpoints and one is delegated for azure app services. The documentations says the azure vnet is free of charge(link). But for the past 9 days of this month, I am charged $12.12 till now. Why I am charged any clue? Thanks

Hello Muhammad Adil - IIG ,

Thank you for your question on the Microsoft Q&A Platform.

While Azure Virtual Networks are free, there are other services that can add up. Public IP addresses, network appliances, and data transfers can all increase your expense. To figure out why you're getting a $12.12 charge, go to your Azure Cost Management site. There, you may view a thorough breakdown of your spending. Examine resource consumption and network traffic to see where the charges are coming from.

    Hello Muhammad Adil - IIG,

    Thanks for your question.

I will recommend you navigate to Cost Management + Billing in the Azure portal and use Cost Analysis to filter costs specifically related to your VNet and check the resource types that are contributing to the charges. This will give you the exqct resources in the vnet giving the cost.

Once you have ethe exact breakdown you can then use the calculator https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/?service=virtual-network

Hello, I am using Azure VNet in my project. I have a VNet with CIDR 10.0.0.0/23 and two subnets. One subnet is used for Private endpoints and one is delegated for Azure App Services. The documentation says the Azure VNet is free of charge (link). But for the past 9 days of this month, I am charged $12.12 till now. Why am I being charged? Any clue? Thanks. I have 6 endpoints, and each has a cost of $2. Here it is mentioned in the docs its price.

    Your Answer:

While Azure Virtual Networks (VNets) themselves are free of charge, certain features and associated services, such as private endpoints, can incur costs. Based on the information you provided, the charges are coming from the private endpoints you have configured. According to the Azure pricing documentation, each private endpoint costs around $2 per month, which matches the charges you've seen.

For more details, you can refer to the Azure Private Link pricing page: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/private-link/
