Admin options for AVD login

Hello,

I have several AVDs that are non-domain joined. What are my options as an admin to log into these AVD's when they're already assigned to other users?

I tried assigning myself almost every privileged access there is and host pool level but this did not work.

I could create a local admin on each AVD but our infosec team has advised against doing this

Bastion and the regular connect to login don't work. However, I can use these methods to connect via domain accounts and domain joined systems.

Hi @DG001,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

We understand from your query that you are experiencing an issue. I would suggest you must be a part of the user in Microsoft Entra ID and have either the Virtual Machine User Login or Virtual Machine Administrator Login role. Navigate to the host pool for the AVD you want to access and add the user to the application group assignments. Users can be assigned to multiple application groups across different host pools, allowing you to control which applications and desktops you can access.

I would recommend you reach out this link for more detailed information-https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/publish-applications-stream-remoteapp?tabs=portal
