Hi,

This problem is bothering me a lot.

I use iCloud Calendar and downloaded iCloud for Windown App on my PC Windows.

When I'm at work on my computer, I primarily check my Email and Calendar using Outlook.

When I'm on my iPhone, I use the default iCloud calendar and email app.

It worked perfectly when I was using older version of Outlook on Windows 10.

Now I'm on Windows 11 with Outlook Professional Plus 2021, the Calendar does not always sync.

Problems:

  1. Some items will not show up on Outlook, while they are on my iPhone,
  2. Some items shows duplicate on Outlook, but there's only 1 entry on iPhone. When I tried to delete these duplicate on Outlook, it let me press the delete button as if it executed the commend, but the calender item remains there.
  3. Sometimes, I would open an existing calendar item to change the time and/or the date. But as soon as I leave the time or date field, the date/time data changed it back. It did not complain that it couldn't change anything, but just undone my change. However, I can change and save the Calendar Subject and location just fine.

I tried to logout of iCloud App, delete records from my computer when asked, then log back in. It seems problems are fixed (not checked everything, so cannot say for sure), however, this problem will come back again!

This makes using Calendar on Outlook very "UNRELIABLE"! When it's unreliable, it's useless!

Someone please let me know:

  1. What is causing this problem? How to avoid?
  2. How to fix it? How to fix it for good?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @JP

    Welcome to our forum!

Here are potential causes and the steps you may take:

    1. Compatibility Issues:
      • The newer version of Outlook or Windows 11 might have compatibility issues with the iCloud for Windows app.
      • Ensure that both Outlook and the iCloud for Windows app are updated to the latest versions.
    2. Sync Settings:
      • Incorrect sync settings in either Outlook or the iCloud app.
      • In the iCloud app, ensure the option to sync Contacts and Calendars is selected.
    3. Corrupted Data:
      • Corrupted calendar data on either the iCloud server or your local machine.
      • Go to File>Account Settings>Account Settings>Data Files>select your account, and click on "Open File Location">Close Outlook and run the SCANPST.EXE tool on the data file. More information: Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost) - Microsoft Support

If all above do not work, here are some other suggestions you may refer to:

    1. Create a new Outlook profile:
      • Go to Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles, and create a new profile. Configure it with your iCloud account.
    2. Reinstall iCloud for Windows:
      • Uninstall the iCloud for Windows app, restart your computer, and then reinstall it. This can help resolve any underlying issues with the app itself.
    3. Use Web Access: If the issues persist, consider using the iCloud web interface for your calendar needs while at work.

    Hope it helps.
