Tools in Microsoft Advertising for creating, editing, and optimizing ad campaigns
Hello Jeffrey.h1,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!
I understand that you’d like to create and add Image Extensions to your ads.
First, I’d like to provide the very helpful article treating the subject of Image Extensions – here.
Important to keep in mind is choosing the type of Image Extension you’d like to use:
- Single-image layout: If you only have one image to share (such as your logo), choose the Single Image Extension layout. You can select multiple images and we'll show one at a time in your ads.
- Multi-image layout: If you want us to show multiple images in an ad, choose the Multi-Image Extension layout. For this extension to serve, a minimum of five images must be chosen and you must select at least four image extensions to enable multi-image extensions.
Multi-image extensions can appear with other ad extensions, however, they will not serve with sitelink, enhanced sitelink, dynamic product, dynamic data, or price extensions.
If you want to maximize multi-image extension delivery, we recommend adding them to campaigns or ad groups that do not have these other type of extensions.
How to create and add an ad extension – valid for all extension types:
- From the main menu on the left, select All campaigns.
- From the page menu, select Ads & extensions.
- Within the page, select the Extensions tab.
- Within the Extensions tab, select either Account, Campaign, or Ad group.
- Click Create Ad Extension.
- If Campaign or Ad group were chosen, you will be asked to select which ones.
- Once the correct campaign and/or ad group is chosen, you will now be able to click on the Create new Image Extension hyperlink found above the button ‘Save’.
- Under Layout eligibility section, you have the option to choose the type of Image extensions you want to create. Follow the rest of the Image extension options, including the upload of the image/s.
- Once ready, click Save.
You can associate up to 6 Image Extensions per entity – About Ad Extensions.
If you want the system to show multiple images per ad, choose the Multi-Image Extension layout.
For this extension to serve, a minimum of five images must be chosen and you must select at least four image extensions to enable multi-image extensions.
If you create the Image extensions at Account level, and wish to associate them with specific campaigns or ad groups, this is how you can associate them:
- From the main menu on the left, select All campaigns.
- From the page menu, select Ads & extensions.
- Within the page, select the Extensions tab.
- Within the Extensions tab, select Campaign to associate an extension with campaigns. You can select Ad Group to associate an extension with ad groups instead.
- From the extensions drop-down list box, select View: Image Extensions.
- Select Create Ad Extension and then select the campaign(s) or ad group(s) you want to add the extension(s) to.
- Select Done.
- From the Available Image Extensions list, select the extension(s) that you want to associate with the campaign(s) or ad group(s). Optionally you can create a new extension and then select it from the list.
- Select Save to apply the association.
Hope this will be helpful for you.
