Hello shayna! I'm Jen, an independent advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

To better assist you further, I would like to know if you're doing the graph online or by using your excel desktop application? I tried to create a sample ABAB graph on my desktop app by using "Scatter with Straight Line and Markers". I found the phase change option by clicking on Chart > Add Chart Elements > Error Bars > More Error Bar Options > Phase Change. However, you can't find these options on excel online since these are not yet supported due to some feature limitations.

Kindly visit this link for more information on what Excel online can do.

However, the said option is still up for vote in the Excel Uservoice for the Web. Click on the link below to vote. The good news here is that the excel team has recently rolled out a format task pane for charts and are investigating incorporating error bars as they continue to add more formatting capabilities for Excel Web.

We hope you can raise your concerns here to help this option be added on the next version of excel for the web.

    Thank you and stay safe!

    Best Regards!

    Jen :)
