Outlook MAPI32.dll missing in Path error

After the most recent Windows update (not sure if it is related to the issue or just a coincidence), I started getting the "mapi32.dll cannot be found in path" error message. I am using office 365 and am on a windows 10 machine. I have tried several types of repairs (in add/remove programs -> Modify), but none of them have worked. I saw that adding a new email account might work, but that didn't fix it either. I have other windows 10 machines with Outlook that I could copy the file from, I just cannot figure out where the "PATH" is. I looked in the registry but it only shows the DLLPath as mapi32.dll (and doesn't show an actual path). If you can tell me where the path is so I can copy a file, that would be great. Or if you have an other suggestions on how to repair this that would be helpful also.

I have already done that but it didnt fix the issue, that is why I am wondering where that file lives. So can you tell me what the path to that file is.

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

    For Office 365 (Click-to-Run), it’s usually in:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

    Or

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

depending on 32-bit vs 64-bit Office.

And older standalone Office versions (like 2016/2019) had it in:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033

    or similar.

Please check in above path and see if it exists

It seems like the mapi32.dll file is missing or not properly registered in your Office installation, which is likely the cause of the error.

    Repair Microsoft Office Installation :

1: Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall a Program.

2: Look for Microsoft 365 apps > Right click on it and click on Change.

3: Select Online Repair > Finish the Process.

This path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun does exist but there is not mapi32.dll file in there.

I also checked on my other computer that has windows 10 and outlook. It has the path also, but there is no mapi32.dll file in there either. and that computer is not getting the error message I am getting.

This path does not exist: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

I also do not have this path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033
