Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
Microsoft Q&A is public, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly with the account or login-related issues.
To reset your password, please follow these steps:
- Go to the Microsoft account recovery page: https://account.live.com/password/reset
- Select "I forgot my password", then click Next.
- If you don’t have access to any of the recovery options listed, click on “I don’t have any of these” and fill out the form as accurately as possible. Microsoft uses that information to verify your identity.
If issue still persists, have you had a chance to try the Microsoft Account Recovery form yet?
That’s currently the only official way to recover your account. It lets you prove your identity by answering questions about your account. You can try it up to twice a day:
Also, about the phone number, landlines are no longer supported for receiving security codes, so that won’t work anymore, Microsoft now only accepts cellular numbers. If you ever have a chance to have it recovered, please change the phone alias to a cellular number.
