Hi Eric, I get how confusing that can feel when the app seems to ask for a code from itself. What’s happening is that Microsoft Authenticator needs to verify your identity before it can be set up or restored, and if it was your only sign-in method, it can’t complete that loop without another way to confirm you. The easiest fix is to use an alternate method like SMS, email, or backup codes linked to your account. If you still have your old phone with Authenticator installed, you can open it there and approve the sign-in or export your accounts to the new device. If you don’t have access to the old device, you’ll need to go through account recovery using those backup options. Do you still have the previous phone, or do you only have the new one?
