When trying to sign in to MS Edge as a work/school account, I get an error stating "The Microsoft Edge team has been notified of this issue. Please try again later. Error code 3, 65, 4000".

I have tried resyncing, removing the profile and adding back on, sfc /scannow, windows updates up to date.

Within Edge://sync-internals/ the transport state is just initialising.

Don't want to completely clear the MS edge sync data in case anything gets lost.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

You can create a new Windows account and then sign in to that new account to see if you're able to log into the Microsoft account in Edge:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users > Add account, then in the pop-up window, click "I don't have this person's sign-in information", and then click "Add a user without a Microsoft account." Enter a name and password for the new account and create it.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Please open Task Manager and close all Edge processes. Then press Win+R simultaneously and type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge

Delete the ‘’User Data‘’ folder, then reopen Edge to see if you can log in.

    Hello,

Please open Settings → Accounts → Sign in to your work or school account.

Add your account here. Then open Edge; it will recognize your Microsoft work account. Simply click Sign in to see if it was successful.

The error code 3, 65, 4000 you are encountering when trying to sign in to Microsoft Edge with a work or school account may be related to identity issues or sync issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

    1. Check Sign-in Status: Go to edge://signin-internals/ to verify your sign-in status. Ensure that you are signed in correctly and that there are no identity errors.
    2. Transport State: Since you mentioned that the transport state is just initializing, it may indicate that the sync service is not fully operational. You can try signing out and then signing back in to see if that resolves the issue.
    3. Sync Internals: Check edge://sync-internals/ for any additional error messages or information that might indicate what is causing the sync to fail.
    4. Policies: Ensure that there are no policies preventing you from signing in or syncing. You can check this by going to edge://policy/ to see if any active policies might be affecting your account.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to Microsoft Edge support for further assistance.

It's important to note that clearing sync data might lead to loss of some data, so proceed with caution if you consider that option.
