Azure Artifact Signing Identity Verification - Change of Address

I have already set up artifact signing with my old address but I moved and updated my account to my new address. The individual identity verification step requires that it's info match the account; however, Au10tix ignores the change of address information on my government ID causing an error because the address does not match.

Au10tix expects me to go to Microsoft for support, and Microsoft expects me to pay $30/month to create support tickets for a service I'm already paying for. I have already wasted hours and hours of my life jumping through hoops for azure. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a product or service in my entire life.

    Hello PizzaBlu,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.

I understand that you are having issues with the Azure Artifact Signing Identity Verification - Change of Address.

The verification failure is caused by one of two validated conditions: either your Azure billing address used by Artifact Signing is not yet fully corrected or approved, or Au10TIX is not accepting the changed-address information shown on the government ID during individual validation. For Public Individual validation, Artifact Signing uses the billing account details from the Azure subscription, and those values are read-only in the validation form. If the source billing details change, the existing validation request cannot be corrected in place and must be recreated. - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/artifact-signing/quickstart, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/change-azure-account-profile, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/manage-tax-information

Do the following to resolve the issue:

After the billing address is correctly updated, a new identity validation request is created, and a matching proof-of-address document is used instead of the rejected changed-address ID, the validation path is aligned with Microsoft’s documented onboarding requirements and becomes the only reliable route to complete Artifact Signing onboarding successfully.

Use the below official Microsoft resources for the exact requirements and steps:

    Hello !

Thank you for posting on MS Learn Q&A.

For Artifact Signing individual identity validation, the details are taken from the Azure billing account and Microsoft documentation says those fields are read only in the validation form. If the account address was changed a new validation request may be required after the billing account information is fully updated.

Also, for individual validation, Microsoft expects a government issued ID with an address. If Au10tix is not accepting the change of address information on the ID the only practical path is to raise this with the Artifact Signing / identity validation team through Azure Support.

Creating multiple identity validation requests while one is still in progress usually does not help and validation cannot be expedited.
