Issues signing into Microsoft 365 Apps

Note: If you are using an older version of Windows (e.g. Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2), use the easy fix to enable TLS 1.2 as default. For more information, see Update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP in Windows.

To fix sign-in issues with Microsoft 365 apps, try the following options on the affected machine:

Note: Disabling Modern Authentication (ADAL) or Web Account Management (WAM) for fixing sign-in or activation issues is not recommended. If the errors occur while connecting to Microsoft 365 using Office 2013, ensure that you enable modern authentication for Office client.
